The purpose of the Hillsboro Hops Fund is to develop and establish a community benefits program, the goal of which is to promote, foster and support education, health, culture and youth activities, including activities for underprivileged youth, in the Greater Hillsboro area.
Our fund was established to level the playing field financially. No child should be unable to play the game simply because the equipment is too expensive. No team should be unable to play a game because the playing surface is sub-par. All the money raised by this fund is directly infused back into the community to support children who simply want to play baseball and softball, but lack the support to do so. Fundraising efforts are focused primarily on field refurbishment and providing synthetic turf fields that can be used year-round by local youth teams as well as community members.
Highlights from 2019 include: Sponsoring jerseys for the entirety of the Hillsboro Little League's T-Ball teams, continuing our support of the Positive Coaching Alliance by funding over a dozen parent, coaches and player clinics in the Portland Metro area, supporting the Friends of Baseball Full Count program, an all-encompassing life skills clinic for under served youth as well continuing to supply grants to youth baseball and softball programs in our community.
